Padel Cities ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable law — including Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law No. 25,326 (PDPL), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA.

1. Who we are

Padel Cities is an independent digital publication covering padel culture and travel worldwide, operated from Buenos Aires, Argentina. For any privacy-related queries, contact us at hello@padelcities.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect two categories of data:

• Email address — provided voluntarily when you subscribe to our newsletter.
• Usage and analytics data — collected automatically when you visit this website, including pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (country/city), device type, browser, and referring source. This data is collected in aggregate and not linked to your identity.
• Email engagement data — when you open or click links in our newsletter, our email platform records that interaction against your email address to help us understand what content our readers find useful.

We do not collect names, payment information, or sensitive personal data.

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

We collect and process data for the following purposes:

• Newsletter delivery — to send you curated content about padel destinations, courts, hotels, and culture. Legal basis: your consent, given when you subscribe.
• Website analytics — to understand how visitors use our website and improve it. Legal basis: consent where required by applicable law; legitimate interest elsewhere.
• Email engagement analytics — to measure newsletter performance (open rates, clicks) and improve our editorial quality. Legal basis: consent / legitimate interest.

• EU / UK (GDPR): Our primary legal basis for newsletter delivery and analytics is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time. Where we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for analytics, you may object.
• California (CCPA / CPRA): We collect the above data for our own business purposes. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
• Argentina (PDPL Law 25,326): Data processing is carried out with your consent or to fulfil the service you requested. You have rights of access, rectification, and deletion as described in Section 8.

4. How we use your data

We use the data we collect to send the newsletter, improve our content and website, and communicate service updates. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Third-party processors

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate Padel Cities. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy terms:

• Beehiiv (newsletter platform) — stores your email address and manages newsletter delivery, subscription management, and email engagement analytics (opens, clicks). Beehiiv is operated by Beehiiv, Inc. (United States). Your data is processed on servers in the US under Beehiiv's Data Processing Agreement. You can review their privacy practices at beehiiv.com/privacy.
• Google Analytics (website analytics, Measurement ID: G-E8HGP9P054) — collects anonymised, aggregate data about how visitors use this website via cookies and similar technologies. Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC (United States). IP addresses are anonymised before storage. Data may be processed in the US under Google's standard terms. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Both processors are contractually bound to handle your data only on our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection law. Where required by GDPR, appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place for transfers outside the EU/UK.

6. Cookies

This website uses analytics cookies placed by Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage statistics. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used for advertising. No other first-party or third-party cookies are set by Padel Cities.

Where required by applicable law (including the EU ePrivacy Directive and equivalent national legislation), we will request your consent before placing analytics cookies. Visitors from regions where consent is required will see a cookie banner on their first visit; analytics will only load once consent is granted.

You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking entirely using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to read or subscribe to the newsletter.

7. Retention

Your email address is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. Upon unsubscribing, your address is removed from our active list promptly — typically immediately. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months before automatic deletion. Anonymised, aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
• Restriction / Objection — ask us to stop or limit processing.
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent — unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
• Argentina (PDPL) — you have the rights of access, rectification, and deletion (habeas data) guaranteed under Law 25,326. Requests may also be directed to the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (AAIP).
• California residents (CCPA/CPRA) — you have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@padelcities.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you may contact the relevant supervisory authority in your country — for example, the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (AAIP) in Argentina, the ICO in the UK, or your national data protection authority in the EU.

10. Children

Our newsletter is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has subscribed, please contact us immediately at hello@padelcities.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will notify subscribers of material changes by email before they take effect.
